AB  - Bidirectional relationship exist between kidney and intestine during AKI. Kidney IRI provoked dysbiosis, immune cell activation and leaky gut while dysbiosis (as a whole) act as an important modifier of AKI severity. Targeting the intestine/microbiota might provide a new avenue for the prevention and treatment of AKI.
