AB  - In recent years, there has been a substantial increase in the number of qualitative research articles published in medical journals, including in nephrology. This article provides and introduction and overview to qualitative research methods in nephrology and highlights the value that this research can bring to the nephrology community. Furthermore, this paper provides readers with a framework to read, interpret and assess the quality of qualitative research conducted.
