Mission:
Our mission is to facilitate timely and broad dissemination of kidney science by offering rigorous and expeditious peer review and rapid open access publication. Kidney360 is a global, peer-reviewed, open access, online only, general kidney journal that publishes scientifically rigorous basic, translational, clinical, epidemiologic, health policy, population science, and global health kidney research.
Scope:
Kidney360 is a general interest kidney journal that includes content from all disciplines of kidney science. Kidney360 will consider a broad array of original investigations, meta-analyses, and reviews in domains including basic, translational, clinical, epidemiologic, health policy, population science, and global health research. Kidney360 will consider original investigation that contributes in a meaningful way to kidney science. Kidney360 recognizes that establishment of reproducibility across populations defined by different stages of disease or other characteristics, and presentation of robustly designed and adequately powered clinical trials with negative results can be important contributions; Kidney360 will therefore welcome submissions of manuscripts that contribute to reproducibility and manuscripts describing negative results. Kidney360 will also consider rigorous qualitative research, and research in the areas of quality improvement, patient safety, health systems performance, and health care value.

Disclaimer:
Message from the Editor-in-Chief: I was honored to be selected by the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) as the inaugural editor-in-chief of Kidney360. We have assembled an outstanding editorial team with broad expertise in both clinical nephrology and basic science.
Kidney360 is the new addition to the ASN portfolio of journals. It will be a global, peer-reviewed, open access, online only, general kidney journal that aims to publish scientifically rigorous basic, translational, clinical, epidemiologic, health policy, population science, and global health kidney research. Kidney360 will also publish educational papers that review various cutting edge clinical and research topics of interest to the readership. State of the art review papers will also include diverse topics such as ethical issues, public health policy, onco-nephrology, palliative care, nephrology around the globe, and other ‘hot topics’ in nephrology. Many of these and other topics will be covered in special series, pro/con debates, guest editorials, perspective pieces, and other formats. Kidney360 content will represent the full spectrum of high-quality work conducted worldwide in nephrology.
A variety of innovative scholarly publishing social media tools will maximize engagement of readers with authors and with the editorial team. Novel features will include expedited online posting of author-accepted manuscripts within 48-hours; a versatile online discussion tool to allow for reader commenting and collaborations among colleagues; new ASN Communities-driven journal club discussions; debates about diagnosis or treatment of various kidney diseases; and podcasts to include author discussions about their papers. In addition, we will appeal to our international readers by highlighting healthcare practice and policy issues for nephrology patients across the globe.
We look forward to receiving and reviewing your original manuscripts on any topic relevant to nephrology. We also welcome your queries on potential reviews and other invited materials. We will begin taking submissions in Fall 2019, and the first issue of Kidney360 will launch online in January 2020.
