Actomyosin signaling during epithelial kidney repair is Shroom3 dependent. Representative high-power images of immunostaining for pMLC in wild-type and Shroom3Gt/+ mutants 48 hours and 10 days after IRI. Ten days after kidney injury, pMLC protein expression is apically localized in wild-type tubular epithelium but not in Shroom3Gt/+ mutants. Panels J′, K′, N′, and O′ from Figure 4A in “Shroom3, a gene associated with chronic kidney disease, modulates epithelial recovery after acute kidney injury” by Aihua Li, Joanna Cunanan, Hadiseh Khalili, Timothy Plageman, Kjetil Ask, Ahsan Khan, Ashmeet Hunjan, Thomas Drysdale, and Darren J.
